William Evans
Bio
Will was Project Director for Open Skies Fellows at OMDTZ, a fellowship designed to empower the next generation of African experts in frontier technologies. He joined HOT in December 2017 as a Project Coordinator in Turkey, and then served as Country Manager in Tanzania.
With over 10 years experience in humanitarian and development work, Will is passionate about building local capacity, ethically applying technology for social good, and was selected as an EthicalGEO Fellow by the American Geographical Society. He holds a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University with a certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies. He also has a Bachelors in International Relations with a focus in Peace and Conflict from the University of Southern California.
Will is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Jordan, where he once walked across the country with a donkey named Gloria Jean. He enjoys reading Jorge Luis Borges, writing haikus, and dismantling the patriarchy.
