Jikka Defiño
Bio
Jikka is the former Communications Associate at HOT-Philippines (2020-2021), aiding in the data-driven disaster risk management project PhilAWARE through publicity push, local community engagement, and creation of OSM training videos on the e-Learning platform handed over to stakeholders.
Before joining HOT, Jikka worked in the media industry, managing award-winning marketing communications campaigns for global brands such as Unilever and SC Johnson. She brings her experience in media and community engagement to HOT through her involvement in the Community Working Group (CWG). She assisted in the revision of the CWG’s Terms of Reference (TOR) in 2021, and has helped organize, document, and facilitate some of the working group’s events.
Jikka currently works in the private sector as a Marketing Manager (country lead) and Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) for one of the world’s Big 4 commercial real estate advisory firms. She is also a volunteer at OpenStreetMap Philippines.
