Ping Yee
Lead Software Engineer - Drone Imagery Services
Ping Yee is a software engineer at HOT, where he builds software for drone mapping and imagery processing. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from UC Berkeley, where he studied computer usability and security. Ping was also an early contributor to the Python language and a co-founder of the Google Crisis Response team at Google.org. His work has spanned computer graphics, user experience design, electronic voting, disaster response, and medical record systems, including collaborations with Médecins Sans Frontières to design and deploy humanitarian technology in resource-limited field settings. For over 20 years, his career has been driven by the belief that technology should be made and used to serve the most vulnerable.
